PREMIUM DERMAL FILLER

How it works

Dermal filler is a smooth injectable gel containing compounds designed to replace the hyaluronic acid you have lost. It does this by filling the space of volume loss, which improves folds and wrinkles, as well as attracting water to replenish moisture to your skin. It also has a biological effect on your own hyaluronic acid by encouraging it to increase collagen and elastin production, which improves skin integrity and quality. Overall, this restores a natural and youthful appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers address persistent lines and wrinkles from natural ageing or sun exposure. Functioning beneath the skin's surface, they act like a foundation to enhance volume in sunken areas. Unlike anti-wrinkle injections that target facial muscles, dermal fillers focus on the spaces between the skin and muscles, providing a rejuvenating effect. These fillers stimulate collagen and elastin fibres, bidding farewell to old fibres and promoting the development of new ones. The outcome is smoother skin with a refreshed appearance that can endure for months.

Where are dermal fillers used?

Dermal fillers are effective in enhancing skin volume and activating natural building fibres. They can be strategically applied to areas such as the cheeks, under the eyes, around the eyes, forehead, between the brows, neck bands, and hands. A personalised plan to align with your specific skincare goals will be discussed during our meeting.

How does dermal filler combat the signs of ageing?

As we age, facial lines and wrinkles persist and become more pronounced. Additionally, natural shifts in facial contours occur due to gradual volume loss in areas like the cheeks, lips, brows, temples, and jawline. Dermal fillers are utilized to address these changes. Functioning as gel-like substances placed beneath the skin's surface, they aim to enhance facial features, restore youthful curves, and promote a smoother appearance. Dermal fillers are employed as strategic tools to address specific areas, whether it involves plumping lips and brows or re-volumizing larger facial regions like the cheeks and jawline.

How does dermal filler work win the lips?

As the aging process unfolds, there can be a loss of volume in the lips and surrounding areas. This may result in the corners of the mouth drooping, conveying unintended emotions. Changes in the upper lip of Cupid's bow can lead to a loss of its V-shape and the appearance of vertical lines. The procedure is non-surgical, and a qualified medical professional uses a fine needle to delicately inject a specialised gel into specific areas. Some of these gels may include lidocaine, an anaesthetic, to minimise discomfort during the procedure.

Are there any side effects?

Dermal fillers have been used for many years and are generally well tolerated. While you may experience no side effects at all, as with all medications, side effects can occur. Possible side effects include injection site redness, pain, firmness, swelling, lumps and bumps, bruising, itching or discolouration. If you have any concerns about side effects, talk to your clinician. Your clinician may also recommend you schedule a follow-up appointment to assess your progress 2–4 weeks after your treatment and again at six months.

Can I combine filler with other products and procedures?

Dermal filler treatment can be combined with other cosmetic treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections, which relax facial muscles, or with other treatments that restore skin tone to rejuvenate the whole face.
